- Associazione Puglia (NSW) Co-operative Ltd ~ formed on 18/8/03, following a transfer from the Incorporated Associations Act approved by the Minister for Fair Trading, Reba Meagher. The Co-operative is based in Leichhardt NSW and promotes social and cultural activities and events and represents the needs and interests of the Apulo-Australian community.
- Plains of Plenty Co-operative ~ formed 22/8/03, 25 members.
The Co-operative aims to provide a marketing opportunity for members living within Gunnedah and surrounding districts, who make craft goods, or the growers and/or processors of rural products.
- Broken Hill Gourmet Products Co-operative Ltd ~ formed 28/8/03, 6 members.
The Co-operative’s main activity is cultivation, processing and marketing of fine food products originating in the Broken Hill and surrounding areas. Initial focus is high-grade olive oil.
- SouthEastern Aboriginal Regional Management Service (SEARMS) Co-op ~ formed 29/10/03, 10 initial members, based in Batemans Bay.
The primary activity is the provision and management of secure, affordable, culturally appropriate accommodation for Aboriginal people in SENSW on behalf of member bodies. SEARMS (South Eastern Aboriginal Regional Management Services) Member organisations will maintain links with communities using Aboriginal housing; assist in identification of needs; contribute to policy development and manage waiting lists in their community.
- Gamiliarart Gallery Co-operative ~ formed 19/9/03.
The Co-operative operates in and around Tamworth and provides a retail outlet for art, craft, and design works produced by its members.
- Bendemeer Community Co-operative Limited ~ formed 3/10/03, 37 members.
The Co-operative operates an art & craft shop, museum and library, for the benefit of the community and to promote tourism in the area.
- The Junee ALIVE Youth & Community Development Co-operative Ltd ~ formed 10/10/03.
The Co-operative’s main activities are to facilitate youth participation and community wide support in creating a caring, enriched, safe and sustainable learning and social environment. A major focus is to provide opportunities for children and youth to develop assets and competencies while experiencing the key elements of positive youth development.
- Multicultural Housing Co-operative Limited ~ formed 15/10/03, based in Ryde.
The Co-operative formed to provide housing to members on low to moderate incomes. Members of the Co-operative are refugees from the former Yugoslavia, who needed to be housed together for mutual support.
- Professional Services Co-operative Limited ~ formed 20/10/03, 6 members, based in Tamworth.
The Co-operative’s main activities are to provide community development services in the areas of law, accounting and health. The Co-operative aims to provide
affordable professional services to the community with the intention that all profits generated will go towards providing services to disadvantaged people and those unable to access appropriate services.
