ICANN Agreement Reached
National Co-operative Business Association (NCBA) of USA and its partners, Poptel of the United Kingdom and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), Geneva, Switzerland have announced that they will launch the new dedicated top-level Internet domain .coop for co-operatives on January 30, 2002.
NCBA is a Washington, DC-based national, cross-industry membership association representing cooperatives of all types. DCLLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCBA that will serve as the registry for .coop including dispute and verification support. Poptel is a worker-owned cooperative providing Internet services, based in the U.K. The International Co-operative Alliance, based in Geneva, Switzerland, serves as the policy advisory and international market development partner for .coop.
